We are preparing to welcome 12,000 guests in-need to Sun Youth this holiday season. For the first time since 1981, we will be greeting and helping them from a new temporary location. After 37 years in the former Baron –Byng High School, this year’s emergency assistance services will be provided from a new temporary building on Parc Avenue, near Beaumont Street. During this time of sharing and compassion, we will need to dig deeper than ever to help each of these families.
Once again this year, Sun Youth will distribute 5,000 food baskets and some 5,000 new toys to children under 12. Help us to make sure these families know that they are not alone, that thousands of dedicated volunteers and caring donors are here to help, when it is needed the most. As our statistics show, this timely show of support will be enough to get thousands of families out of their desperate situations and onto a path of success and independence for the new year.
In memory of our incredible mentor and great friend, Earl De La Perralle, who personally impacted thousands of Montrealers, we thank you for your invaluable support. Your generosity, no matter how big or small, will allow us to continue his selfless work with pride, dedication, compassion and respect. We wish to ensure that your contribution this Holiday season will not go unnoticed. We thus encourage you to share stories and pictures of your food and toy drives on our social medias pages, be it Facebook,Twitter or Instagram and inspire others to get involved in the process. We also invite you to use the #Givetoday hashtag in your posts.
As is our custom, we are inviting thousands of less fortunate Montreal families to celebrate the Holidays with us, help us to help others!
Thanking you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support, we wish you and yours a great Holiday season,
Sid Stevens on behalf of the Entire Sun Youth Team
