This Summer, Sun Youth will be offering an assortment of camps to boys and girls: a day camp, a two-week intensive basketball camp, and finally a two-week stay at our sleep away camp in the Laurentians.
For over 20 years, Sun Youth’s Summer Day Camp has provided children aged 5 to 12 years old a safe environment to enjoy an exciting program of indoors and outdoors activities. Led by a team of qualified and bilingual animators, young campers are offered activities such as excursions, sports, horticulture, swimming classes, games, outings (amusement parks, museums, and water parks), arts & crafts and theater. Day camp still has open spots for children ages 5-6 years old.
Athletic development is a physical and mental process full of opportunities for young people to grow and learn, and this is an approach adopted by Sun Youth’s Summer Basketball Camp. For 2 weeks from July 18th to 29th, boys and girls between the ages of 6 to 12 will receive instruction from Sun Youth coaches throughout the day, and welcome special guests who possess a wealth of expertise from both playing and coaching at some of the most elite levels of competition. Both camps are located at our Saint-Urbain street headquarters and offer campers breakfast, hot lunches and afternoon snacks to make sure they keep a high energy level throughout their very active day.
Sleep Away Camp
Sun Youth operates an outdoor and leisure center in Rivière-Rouge in the Laurentians. The camp can accommodate up to 200 people and covers an area of over 55 acres in a wooded area near a lake. This summer, Sun Youth will be running two different sessions where children will be given the chance to escape the city and enjoy a multitude of outdoor activity.
The lake allows for many activities like canoeing, pedal boating, windsurfing or swimming. The outdoor facilities include basketball and tennis courts, volleyball, baseball and football fields and a practice field for archery.
Stays offered in the summer of 2016
July 4th to July 16th: Boys and girls aged 9 to 14 years-old
July 18th to July 23rd: Boys and girls aged 5 to 8 years-old
