Last August 12th, Sun Youth held its annual Mordy Gordon Golf Tournament and Cyclothon after a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19. This was the 17th edition of the tournament and the 4th edition of the Cyclothon. The event was held at the Elm Ridge Country Club of Île-Bizard. Some 100 golfers and 40 cyclists had gathered to support Sun Youth’s sports and recreation programs for children. Sun Youth wishes to thank the tournament’s partner, DesSources Dodge Jeep RAM Chrysler, and the Cyclothon partner, Bureauvision, for their renewed support again this year.
After a full day of golfing on the beautiful course of Elm Ridge or biking through Île-Bizard and Oka, the participants were treated to a cocktail with an open bar courtesy of the National Bank. They were also able to bid on several exciting items at an online auction. Prizes included signed hockey jerseys from Montreal Canadiens Alexander Romanov and Nick Suzuki, a game puck autographed by Cole Caufield, paintings, Montreal Expos signed memorabilia and much more!
Since 2004, the annual golf tournament and cyclothon allowed Sun Youth to raise over $1,000,000.00 for children’s sports and recreation programs. The organization wishes to thank all participants, sponsors and donors from this year for their exceptional generosity.
