A record year for our 23rd Sun Youth Golf Tournament
On August 6, Sun Youth held the 23rd edition of its Annual Golf Tournament at Elm Ridge Golf Club, raising funds to support our sports and recreation programs for children and youth.
After a brief morning shower, the sun quickly returned, allowing participants to fully enjoy a beautiful day on the course.
Bringing together more than 150 golfers and guests, the event once again highlighted the generosity and commitment of our community. Thanks to the participation of our guests and the invaluable support of our sponsors, partners and donors, hundreds of children and youth will be able to take part in sports activities, day camps and after-school programs. For many of them, these enriching experiences simply would not have been possible otherwise.
A very special thank-you also goes to our Honorary President, François J. Coutu, whose leadership, commitment, and support were instrumental in helping us surpass our fundraising goal. His involvement also helped secure a generous gift from the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation and renew their support of Sun Youth. We are deeply grateful for his continued commitment to our organization and to the young people we serve. Thanks to Mr. Coutu’s commitment, we were able to raise a record amount of 300,000$ in gross revenue.
Celebrating the Success of our Youth
The evening also provided an opportunity to present the Earl De La Perralle Scholarships to Mamadi Kaba and Dzidula Marylight Sowadan (Didou), two Sun Youth athletes who each received a $2,500 scholarship to support their university studies.
The Earl De La Perralle Scholarship is the organization’s highest youth honour. It pays tribute to one of Sun Youth’s co-founders and recognizes academic excellence, athletic perseverance, and community involvement, values that continue to guide our organization and the young people we serve.

The support of our entire community helps Sun Youth continue providing accessible sports and recreation programs that give hundreds of young people opportunities to participate, grow and succeed.
Thank you to everyone who contributed, in one way or another, to making this 23rd edition such a success. Your support has a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of the young people we serve.
We are already looking forward to welcoming you back next year for the 24th edition of the Sun Youth Annual Golf Tournament!
