We wish to thank everyone who took part in Sun Youth’s holiday operation this year. Your participation allowed us to help 12,000 disadvantaged Montrealers, and we are very grateful for your help. Your help shows the importance each of you gives to social solidarity. When Montrealers were hit with job loss, illness, and financial insecurity, your generosity has directly impacted many disadvantaged people’s lives. Your generosity has given them hope and reminded them that they were not alone. We are honoured to have been able to count on your support in our commitment to improving Montrealers’ quality of life.
The year 2020 has presented significant challenges for us. As a result of COVID-19, thousands of people sought our services. To meet the increased needs, we have reorganized our services from top to bottom while respecting health measures. We are happy to say that most of our emergency services were maintained throughout this crisis. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have helped more than 50,000 people. We have distributed an abundance of nutritious food and toys to some 12,000 additional people during the holidays. We can all be very proud of this achievement, especially under these circumstances!
