Thanks to Houle Toyota Scion!

The partnership between Sun Youth and Houle Toyota Scion takes a new turn…

While instrumental to Recyc-vélo’s success, Michel Houle’s generosity is now allowing Sun Youth’s Emergency Services to get its own new wheel sets. Indeed, Houle Toyota Scion and Michel Houle recently, donated two brand new 2014 vehicles to the organization, a Corolla and a Sienna. The car and the minivan will be used by Sun Youth in its emergency interventions such as assistance to victims of disasters and home visits to reduced mobility individuals. On an annual basis, Sun Youth is called on the scene of some 200 fires and other disasters, working in collaboration with the Montreal Fire Department, the Red Cross and the Office municipal d’habitation de Montréal to assist victims and help them get back on their feet as quickly as possible. Meanwhile 7% of all food distributed by Sun Youth’s Emergency Food Bank is home-delivered to those who can’t make it to the organization because of mobility issues. On behalf of all those who will benefit from Sun Youth’s increased mobility, many thanks to Michel Houle and Houle Toyota Scion for these new wheel sets!

Houle Toyota Scion has been a faithful partner of Sun Youth since 2006. This fruitful collaboration started with Recyc-vélo, an annual recycled bicycle distribution initiated by Mr. Michel Houle, General Director of Houle Toyota Scion. Over the last 8 years, this program allowed for over 3000 bikes to be refurbished and donated to underprivileged Montreal families. In 2013, Michel Houle was the recipient of Sun Youth’s Excellence Award at the organization’s Annual New Bike Giveaway to deserving youths, receiving this prize for his outstanding commitment to the community, serving as an example for the youngsters rewarded with a brand new set of wheels.
