Altitude Sports – Reaching New Heights of Giving

For the past 3 years, Sun Youth has been very pleased to be able to count on a new partner in our fight to alleviate poverty and promote inclusion: Montreal’s own Altitude Sports.  Altitude Sports is Canada’s largest online urban and outdoor apparel retailer. The Canadian company was “born when the love of the outdoors met Montreal’s flair. From a single storefront, it has grown into a haven for those who value comfort and style.”

Protecting the environment, helping in-need youth, and making the outdoors more inclusive: these issues are important to Altitude’s co-CEO’s Alexandre Guimond and Maxime Dubois, and the causes they support reflect this. Since 2017, their Alti Action program, through which clients can choose a cause to donate to, has contributed more than $650,000 to their partner organizations such as Protect Our Winters Canada (POW), Colour The Trails, and Sun Youth.

This year’s Alti Action campaign raised $32,595 for the Sun Youth sports and recreation programs. In the last 3 years, Alti Action has given close to $70,000 to Sun Youth, generous donations which allowed children’s outdoor activities last winter when indoor activities were impossible due to COVID.

And that’s not all – Altitude Sports has also given us a large amount of clothing and outdoor accessories (valued at over $660,000), including critical winter wear, to redistribute to low-income families and people in need in Montreal! The Altitude Sports team came to the Sun Youth offices on November 9th to help distribute winter clothing and accessories. The recipients were exceedingly grateful, as we at Sun Youth are for Altitude Sports’ continued support and contributions.
