Individuals and groups are invited to donate their excess pennies
Every month, some 2,400 Montreal families depend on Sun Youth to meet their emergency food needs. The organization relies on the public’s generosity to provide this service. Last year, over 18% of the food distributed by Sun Youth had to be purchased in order to cater to some 27,000 emergency food assistance requests. With the ever-increasing need in the midst of long-term economic uncertainty, more food and financial contributions are necessary to continue meeting the demands placed on this crucial service.
People are invited to meet this need by bringing their pennies to Sun Youth (4251 , St. Urbain Street in Montreal – H2W 1V6). It is not necessary to roll the coins and donors of $20 or more will be entitled to a charitable receipt. Donors are asked to include contact information with their contribution in order to prepare this receipt.
Sun Youth needs your pennies!
With the recent retirement of the penny by the Royal Canadian Mint, individuals and groups are invited to donate their excess pennies to Sun Youth! The donations collected will be used to make supplementary food purchases for the organization’s food bank.
