Sun Youth is a grassroots, front-line community organization that has been a lifeline for thousands of Montrealers and their families for over 65 years.
Our programs include Emergency Services for disaster victims and their families and a large emergency food bank. Sun Youth relies on the generosity of Montreal business leaders, all levels of government and private donors to offer sustainable aid to close to 30,000 Montreal families and individuals every year.
We anticipate our numbers to rise exponentially in the next weeks and will not be able to sustain our support without your donations.
In this challenging time of the Covid-19 pandemic, thousands of Montrealers are affected by job loss, illness and financial insecurity. With schools closed and children at home indefinitely, the extra strain has been put on family grocery requirements as well. Supporting people on a regular basis requires the full-time efforts of our paid and volunteer staff.
Under these difficult circumstances, we have reduced staff on the premises, reduced our volunteer network and created shifts, are supporting our admin staff working remotely and, to prevent unnecessary exposure for our staff and clients, we have set up a home drop off service.
With requests for emergency aid increasing exponentially throughout the Island of Montreal, Sun Youth is dedicated to growing its support efforts to meet the demands of the community, ensuring that all those in need can be helped. Your help is needed. We will not be able to sustain our services without monetary and goods donations.
We are contacting you today as we have received many urgent requests for assistance. A financial donation from you would allow us to increase our support efforts to meet the demands of the community, ensuring that as many people as possible can be helped. Likewise, if you have food to donate, our staff and volunteers will distribute your goods to hundreds of people in need. We will also provide you with an official receipt for the value of your donation and can collect the goods at your location.
If you can help, please contact 514 842-6822 for more information or to arrange to pick up.
During this crisis, all our efforts combined will make us a stronger community and hopefully save lives and livelihoods.
Please give generously.
Be safe, be well and thank you.
