Sun Youth Camp also welcomes the young at hearth. Seniors 55 years and older can reside at the camp for one-week stays in a lodge specifically intended for them: the “House of Wisdom”. This newly renovated lodge can accommodate up to 12 people in six single occupancy and three double occupancy rooms. It has a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, two terraces and an antique wood stove.
Activities for all tastes await senior campers. Whether they decide to bike, swim, canoe, play a game of tennis, lawn bowling, horseshoes or to sunbathe, seniors manage their time and do what they want to. They can also enjoy the natural environment around them as it is an enchanting setting for writers, photographers and painters (the Sun Youth camp is also equipped with an arts & crafts studio) or to watch birds and other wildlife. The House of Wisdom can also be used in winter for group outings.
For the 2015 summer, seniors will have the chance to experience camp with the youngest campers (5 to 8 years old). For one week, they will become adoptive grand-parents for the little one, sharing a host of activities with them. This special session will be held between July 13th and July 19th. Sessions for seniors only are offered between June 29th and July 5th and between July 5th and July 11th.
