After Sun Youth’s announcement last week that they were short 2,000 toys for their holiday toy drive, Montreal’s own MEGA Brands received an urgent call from the North Pole.
“I was worried our workshop wouldn’t be able to make these missing toys in time for Christmas, so I called my friends at MEGA to give me a hand in helping Sun Youth”, said Mr. Claus, Santa Claus that is.
The “big man” himself, along with several of his Elves made a quick trip to the MEGA Brands toy factory where they were hard at work helping build those extra toys.
To celebrate his visit, MEGA Brands has extended an invitation to a lucky group of elementary school students to come meet Santa Claus and to receive a tour of the toy factory and to learn how toys are made, right here in their home town.
“We are very pleased to assist Sun Youth in their efforts to help families and children in need”, said Marc Bertrand, President and CEO of MEGA Brands. “Every child should receive a toy during the holidays, and we are happy to work alongside Santa to help make this happen.”
Adds Sid Stevens, Executive Vice-President and cofounder of Sun Youth: “We are touched by the offer that came in from MEGA Brands. We are always pleased to welcome new partners and MEGA came through at a very difficult period for our organization. This partnership will allow us to make sure that 2,000 youngsters between the age of 6 and 12 will be able to have gifts under the Christmas tree, thanks to MEGA and Santa.
